Elk Grove Village officials announced that part of its sponsorship package with three national U.S. Olympic teams will include several opportunities to showcase Elk Grove Village's "Beyond Business Friendly" benefits during nearly every NBC Sports Chicago television broadcast of Chicago White Sox games this season. The partnership gives the village the opportunity to market itself as a premier destination for businesses on a global and local stage in the coming months.
The opportunity with NBC Sports Chicago is one facet of a broader marketing partnership with three national governing bodies (USA Track & Field, USA Wrestling and USA Triathlon) that will give the Village's "Makers Wanted" brand local and global visibility during the run up to the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer. The overall goal is to drive awareness of Makers Wanted and Elk Grove Village by purchasing advertising on various cable and digital channels this spring and summer.
"Elk Grove Village is proud to sponsor American athletes and businesses as they pursue their dreams. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of all the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the resurgent Chicago White Sox team to share that message and tout Elk Grove Village as a great location for global manufacturers, logistics companies, data centers and other high tech industries," said Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson.
"Sox fans should be prepared to see plenty of winning baseball this season. And, they should expect to learn a lot more about why Elk Grove Village is a great place to do business."
Mayor Johnson, in briefing the village board and the community at tonight's board meeting said that White Sox fans tuning in to nearly every game on NBC Sports Chicago this season will be exposed to advertising and in-game features promoting Elk Grove's "Beyond Business Friendly" economic development message.
For example, the village will be sponsoring one inning during each game telecast on NBC Sports Chicago. On-air announcers will announce that the inning is sponsored by Elk Grove Village Makers Wanted and feature the village's logo on the screen during most of the inning.
Additionally, the $55,000 partnership provides the village with 150 on air commercials. The village said it will air the ads developed as part of its sponsorship with the three national governing bodies. The ads incorporate the theme of "supporting the American dream for athletes and businesses."
The message is especially timely given that U.S. athletes will be competing for glory in Tokyo this summer.
"Marketing Elk Grove Village through sports has been a proven winner for our community. We're thrilled to partner with other proven winners to tell our story internationally and across the Chicago region," said Johnson.
