Getting facts right
On August 16, The Northwest Side GOP posted on Facebook a meeting that will take place on October 4 in Chicago.
Above the printed information about the meeting, they posted a visual; a chart titled, Trump and Obama by the numbers. The chart listed job approval, unemployment rate, jobs added, deficit and the GDP.
The deficit shown under Trump was listed as 532 million. I sent a reply to the post that the national debt under Trump is currently 24.3 trillion and they need to be more responsible and accurate about the information they post.
Well, within the day, my post was reported as spam and removed. I took a screenshot of their original post from the previous day and wrote about it being deleted. That was also removed, within minutes.
It's so ironic because it's Trump and the Republicans that keep accusing the Democrats (and don't assume I am a Democrat) about fake news and manipulating the facts. I don't care about party affiliation. Facts need to be reported accurately.
There is so much misinformation being circulated and people believe it if it's coming from the party of their choice. Like the famous quote, "If I can control the press, I can control the way people think."
No matter what your party affiliation, don't accept things at face value, It's so important now with the elections right around the corner.
