Traffic problems Friday in two sections of Northwest Highway in Barrington

Barrington officials have issued a special traffic alert due to problems in two sections of Northwest Highway.

Officials announced about 4 p.m. that power outages and emergency sanitary sewer repairs were causing traffic delays at Northwest Highway and Route 59.

In addition, a traffic signal at Northwest Highway and Main Street/Lake-Cook Road is not operating due to power outages. Drivers are asked to avoid the areas, if possible.
