Libertyville High memorabilia pops up at library

Visitors caught a glimpse of Libertyville High School history Thursday as part of a "pop-up museum" at the Cook Park Library in Libertyville. Residents and former students brought in memorabilia for a community show-and-tell as part of the school's centennial celebration.

"People can share their own personal history and discuss with each other their memories of their high school days," said Jenny Barry, the local history librarian at Cook Memorial Public Library and a 1988 graduate of the high school. "It's neat to see the older things that are still kept by families in town. It is terrific."

Included in the collection were photographs, yearbooks, letter jackets and newspaper articles.

The program was sponsored by the Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County, the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society and Cook Memorial Library.
