Meijer extends donation drive for food pantry

Meijer in Rolling Meadows is extending its donation drive for the Elk Grove Township food pantry through the end of the year to help the hungry during the holiday season.

The campaign, which started this summer, was expected to end Sept. 24, but the store will now accept donations through Dec. 31, township officials said.

Through Meijer's Simply Give program, shoppers can donate money at checkout - to be matched by the store - which will then be given to the township to purchase food items.

The store is located at Golf and Algonquin roads.
