Candidate's tone divisive

I have 5 college-educated children who do not vote because they see so many candidates being incredibly divisive. Sadly, I question congressional candidate Sean Casten's implications that people with viewpoints different from his are ignorant morons. This signals that his presence in Washington would only intensify the ongoing partisan divide. Mr. Lincoln once stated that a nation divided against itself cannot stand.
