Arlington Heights nanny gets probation for faking child abduction claim
An Arlington Heights nanny who prosecutors say falsely claimed a child she was watching had been abducted last November pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Janina Majerczyk, 64, was sentenced to 24 months probation Wednesday and was ordered to pay $500 restitution, according to court records.
As Arlington Heights police responded to Majerczyk's report of an abduction, another woman called to say she found a child alone in Camelot Park in Arlington Heights, police said. Police say after they questioned Majerczyk she admitted making up the abduction claim.
