'Shiver' with AM Taxi at Reggies

Kicking off the new album “Shiver By Me” with the rousing and rollicking previously released single “Saint Jane” was a bold move for Chicago-area band AM Taxi. The song checks off so many boxes for good old Chicago rock with a side of punk - clever phrasing, a catchy melody, shout-along lyrics and musicians who genuinely seem to be having a good time - that it sets the bar high for the rest album. But Naperville's Adam Krier and the band - Jay Marino, Chris Smith and Lucky Boys Confusion compatriot Jason Schultejann - succeed in creating a world populated with interesting people with even more interesting stories. Hear the album live when AM Taxi plays a release show at Reggies this weekend, supported by 6'10, Daniel Wade with Ryan Powers and Wheaton punk band Take the Reins. 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Reggies Rock Club, 2109 S. State St., Chicago. $13-$15. (312) 949-0120 or reggieslive.com.
