Houston's Deric has 4th shutout to preserve scoreless draw

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Tyler Deric had his fourth shutout of the season and the Houston Dynamo tied Orlando City 0-0 on Friday night.

Orlando City (4-4-9) was held scoreless for a second straight game and has played to a draw in four of its last six games.

The teams combined for just four shots on goal, but the limited scoring chances picked up in the final minutes.

Giles Barnes hit the post on a breakaway in the 89th minute for Houston (4-8-6) and on Orlando's counterattack, Julio Baptista sailed a shot over the crossbar. In the 90th, Cyle Larin intercepted a defensive header to the goalkeeper but Deric came out of his area to knock it away.

On Wednesday, Orlando City fired coach Adrian Heath, who had been with the club since it began in Austin, Texas, in 2008.

The match was delayed slightly before the opening whistle due to poor weather.
