County should stand up to unions
I read with great interest that the Kane County board seems to be at a dilemma with respect to property taxes vis-a-vis next year's budget.
In the same article, it was pointed out the county is short on funding due to last year's approval of union contract demands.
My question is simple. When will Kane County, and the city of St. Charles for that matter, realize they work for "we the people" and not the unions?
Any union contract can be terminated with proper procedures. Next time a contract expires, may I suggest you represent the people that elect you and terminate all public sector union contracts and hire equally qualified replacements that are equally qualified and readily available at a fraction of the cost?
Problem solved, budget met and a reduction in taxes that are driving people out of this state in droves.
