She always wanted to ride in a big truck

To everyone who has a "bucket list," I'd like to share a wonderful experience that came true because of two very dear friends, Shirley Barnest and Nancy Bluver.

I recently turned 81 and still had two items on my bucket list that have not been fulfilled. I have swam with the dolphins, but never fed a giraffe or had a ride in a semitrailer truck.

Shirley wanted my wish to come true so she went to Northwest Freightliner in Palatine and met with the Service Parts Manager John Jepson.

John and his staff took over, and excitedly arranged for me to have my long-desired wish of riding in a semi. They all cheered me on and off. John and I went in a beautiful bright yellow Freight liner. What a thrill. I felt like the king of the road, way up high.

How can I ever convey my heartfelt thanks to my friends, as well as John Jepson?
