The Illinois tax tradition

Tax, spend and borrow. That is the mantra of the Illinois General Assembly. They must have missed the simple math of grade school.

When you have $32 billion to spend, you cannot spend $36 billion. Except in Illinois. Just tax, tax and more tax.

Every working person in the state of Illinois has just received a nearly 2 percent reduction in take-home pay. I am sure that my state Sen. Terry Link and Rep. Carol Sente are very proud of themselves. They get to spend other people's money again.
