Man killed in Round Lake Beach stabbing

A man was found dead in the garage of a Round Lake Beach home, according to Round Lake Beach police.

At 2:59 p.m. Monday, police responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on the 2000 block of Apache Trail.

According to police, officers found a man with multiple lacerations upon arrival at the house. The man's injuries were not life-threatening, and after providing information to officers, he was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

There were several more people inside the house when officers entered the house. They said the man's attacker was inside the house's garage.

In the garage police found the body of an unidentified man with multiple stab wounds, authorities said.

Officers requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

An autopsy by the Lake County coroner's office is set for Tuesday.

The stabbing is still under investigation. Police said this is believed to be an isolated episode.
