Supervisor candidate will listen to residents

I wholeheartedly support the candidacy of Robin O'Connor for Libertyville township supervisor. Having worked with Robin for many years on many school and community projects, I feel well qualified to state that she would make a dedicated, energetic, flexible, and forward thinking addition to township governance.

Robin has served on the township board for 12 years.

Robin is a lifelong educator and administrator, having spent much of her career working in Vernon Hills schools. She has attained a bachelor of science from NIU, a master's in education leadership, and, most recently has completed the program for an education specialist degree in educational leadership. She has worked as a teacher, school administrator, curriculum director, and workshop presenter, and currently teaches with the Northwestern University Weekend Enrichment Program for gifted children.

Having worked with her in many educational roles, I can speak to her ability to develop creative, forward-thinking goals, to clearly communicate those goals and ideas to others and to enlist others in support of her vision. She is open to divergent opinions, creative in her problem solving, and collaborative in her approach to issues.

Robin is and has always been deeply involved in community service. She has the ability to organize projects and carry them through to completion. She is dedicated, energetic, creative, and collaborative, all qualities which will serve her and the community well in this position.

As township supervisor, Robin has committed to preserving open lands and providing ways to make this land available for residents to use and enjoy. She favors increased transparency in government and will be open to ideas and opinions from residents. I believe these qualities and competencies make her the best candidate for Township Trustee on April 4.
