Carpentersville's FISH Food Pantry offers client choice shopping

Beginning this month, FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville is pleased to announce that they will once again be offering the option for clients to select food, filling their own shopping cart.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the food pantry remained open, but with volunteers filling carts and clients picking them up at the door. They are happy to return to client choice.

However, only one person per household will be allowed in the building and face masks will be required while shopping. Unfortunately, children will not be allowed in the pantry.

If clients do not wish to shop for themselves or have children with them, volunteers will fill carts that can be collected at the side door, as in previous times.

Also, beginning in August and until further notice, clients will be welcome to visit the pantry once a week.

The FISH Food Pantry continues to serve residents in Carpentersville, Gilberts, Sleepy Hollow, East Dundee and West Dundee.

The food pantry is located at 150 S. Kennedy Drive, Unit 8B-11A, in the back of Meadowdale Shopping Center in Carpentersville.

Hours are 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with evening hours from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.

For information on this volunteer-run food pantry, call (847) 428-4357 or email help@thefishfoodpantry.org.

Due to the affiliation with Northern Illinois Food Bank, every $1 donated buys the equivalent of $8 worth of food from a supermarket. For those interested in donating to the pantry, visit www.fish-food-pantry.org or www.facebook.com/fishfoodpantry/.
