Buona Beef now open in Algonquin

People camped out in tents the night before the grand opening of the new Buona Beef along the Randall Road corridor in Algonquin.

The first 100 people in line for the opening on Monday, Nov. 21, won free beef for a year.

By 11 a.m. that day, though, everyone was enjoying beef from the new restaurant, 501 S. Randall Road, whether it was free or not.

The restaurant's opening has been much anticipated along the Randall Road corridor in Algonquin. Many people have been pulling up, hoping to find it would open earlier than late November.

When it finally opened this month, the lines were steady and the people were happy.

Algonquin Village President John Schmitt, who attended an Italian beef-cutting for the restaurant last week, said there has been talk of Buona Beef coming to the village for 17 years.

He said he's thrilled it's finally open, and knows it will be successful in its new location along Randall Road.

"We're excited," Schmitt said.

The restaurant is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is located on the east side of Randall, just south of Buffalo Wild Wings.

In addition to Italian beef, it also serves up pizzas, salads, french fries, burgers, hot dogs, desserts and more.

The new location also offers catering services, and can cater any upcoming holiday parties.

The restaurant offers dine-in seating and carry out.
