Steve Connell of Crystal Lake's RCLPC Theatre to guest on Huntley Radio's It's Showtime with Rikki Lee
On Friday, May 28, Steve Connell, acclaimed actor and the founder of Crystal Lake's Right Center Left Production Company (RCLPC) Theatre, will be the guest on radio's It's Showtime with Rikki Lee. The program airs at 3 p.m. on Friday on 101.5 FM and streaming at www.HuntleyRadio.com.
Connell is a veteran actor, beloved by suburban Chicago audiences. Among his many credits, he has played the role of Ebenezer Scrooge at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and at other theatres throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
Connell founded RCLPC Theatre in 2014. It is a professionally run, nonprofit, non-Equity company dedicated to entertaining and enlightening audiences while raising money for charity. The company has staged critically acclaimed dinner theater productions of "You Can't Take it With You," "Hello Dolly," "On Golden Pond," "Once Upon a Mattress," and "Morning's at Seven."
For the May 28, 3 PM interview, host Rikki Lee Travolta will take listeners on a tour of Connell's successful acting career and delve into what inspired the creation of RCLPC Theatre. Charities that RCLPC Theatre has raised funds for include: Pioneer Center for Human Services, Living Waters of the World, Court Appointed Special Advocate, The Old Firehouse Assistance Center, McHenry County Homelessness Project, Diaper Bank, NAMI, PADS, Covenant Network, Care for Children Overseas, and Build a Dream.
Host Travolta is also well known to Chicago audiences. He made headlines coming to Chicago in the 1990's to star in Tony n' Tina's Wedding. After reviving ticket sales in Chicago, Travolta branched out to boost ticket sales in productions of "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" across the country. In 2005 he was named alongside Donny Osmond and Patrick Cassidy as one of the Top 10 Headliners for the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Travolta and Connell co-starred in RCLPC Theatre's "Morning's at Seven" in 2019.
