Libertyville creates fine arts commission

A fine arts commission has been created in Libertyville.

The village board on Tuesday approved the measure as recommended by its special projects committee. The commission will be comprised of seven members appointed by Mayor Terry Weppler with the board's consent.

The group will promote fine arts month, establish donation guidelines and a review process, and make recommendations on the placement of purchased, commissioned or donated public art.
