Monsanto, Yum Brands and Delta rise, Omnicom sinks

NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily on Thursday:

Monsanto Co. (MON), up $3.09 to $104.22

German drug and chemicals maker Bayer raised its offer for the seed company to $125 per share.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM), up 96 cents to $64.12

The bank kept cutting costs and its fixed income trading revenue climbed in the second quarter.

Yum Brands Inc. (YUM), up $2.53 to $88.27

The parent of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, reported a better-than-expected profit in the second quarter, including better sales for KFC.

Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL), up $1.42 to $40.98

The airline's profit was greater than investors expected and the company said it will limit its growth to boost fares.

CSX Corp. (CSX), up 84 cents to $29.05

The railroad operator beat expectations in the second quarter by raising some rates and slashing expenses.

Exelon Corp. (EXC), down 36 cents to $36.39

Investors continued to sell utility company shares as they felt comfortable betting on riskier types of stocks.

Omnicom Group Inc. (OMC), down $1.84 to $83.12

The advertising company's quarterly revenue fell short of projections from analysts.

Harsco Corp. (HSC), up $1.00 to $9.05

The industrial services company forecast strong results, saying its metals and minerals business did better, and raised its annual projections.
