Rosemont inks fireworks deal for 2019, 2020

Rosemont has inked a new contract for its weekly summer fireworks displays, in addition to bigger shows on the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve.

The agreement with Melrose Pyrotechnics Inc. calls for 16 fireworks displays - most during the Thursday night Rockin' in the Park summer concert series. The village will pay $247,025 for fireworks in 2019, which represents a $3,725 increase from this year. In 2020, the fireworks will cost $263,000.

Melrose sets off the pyrotechnics from the top of a parking garage near Parkway Bank Park, the village entertainment district located east of the Tri-State Tollway and north of Balmoral Avenue.
