Club gets ready for annual lilac bush sale

The Lombard Garden Club has pruned and potted more than 350 lilac bushes for its annual sale in May.

The Lilac Bush Sale takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 6, and 8 a.m. until sold out Saturday, May 7, at Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave., Lombard.

The sale will feature at least 350 lilac bushes, as well as lilac trees, and include 16 different cultivars. The club, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, holds the sale as its largest fundraiser.
