Gurnee man, 83, in critical condition after one-car crash in Wadsworth

An 83-year-old Gurnee man is in critical condition following a one-car crash Monday evening west of Wadsworth.

The man was driving a Mitsubishi sedan north on Dilleys Road and failed to follow a curve in the roadway near the 39500 block around 6:30 p.m., according to Lake County sheriff's officials.

The man's car struck several trees and a fence. Investigators do not know why the man failed to follow the curve, but officials said the man may have suffered a medical emergency while driving.

The man was rushed to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, officials said.

The crash is under investigation.
