COMMUNITY Cares program signs up 400 volunteers

Some 400 volunteers have signed up to help respond to the coronavirus pandemic through the COMMUNITY Cares program of Community Christian Church.

The program launched about three weeks ago with teams offering services across the region from Lincoln Square through Joliet. Teams are helping in the following areas: collecting donations; addressing food insecurity; supporting essential service employees; running errands for seniors and others who are at risk; providing home schooling support for parents; addressing homelessness; supporting the incarcerated at a mental health correctional facility in Joliet; supporting the lonely and isolated; forming prayer teams; sewing masks;
