Batavia Youth Football kicks off season with inaugural Tailgate Event

Batavia Youth Football and the Batavia Park District staff invite the public to join the inaugural Tailgate Event Saturday, Aug. 25, at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St.

Program participants, which include all levels of first to sixth grade, will have a mandatory practice from 3 to 4 p.m. The tailgate is set to begin at 4:15 p.m. before the seventh-grade scrimmage. Hot dogs, chips, and a drink will be provided to all who attend after the practice.

High school players will be present to encourage the kids, as well as sign autographs and jerseys. High school football staff will also be on-site to share the importance of the football league and answer any questions.

The Batavia Youth Football Board and Batavia High School football staff invite the community to attend to show their support for Batavia youth, kick off the beginning of another season, but also to answer any concerns parents may have about tackle football. Batavia Youth Football is a Heads Up Certified League and through their association with USA Football, follow specific guidelines by the governing body of the sport of football.
