We lost good man

In life, there are tragic events that touch your heart deeply. One of those was hearing the news of the death of a pillar in the Lake Zurich community, Manny LoGalbo.

We share children of the same age and when they went through football, Manny was "Mr. LZ Flames." I had the privilege of coaching with Manny for a few years. He was always about the boys. He was about teaching them life skills more than football skills.

He was a good Christian man, and he taught young boys to be good men. That is evident in his children. Jennifer and Manny raised wonderful young men.

I know faith was very important to Manny. He was not afraid or shy in sharing it with you. We were all better for it.

There is a quote, "Sometimes in tragedy, we find our life's purpose." It will take some time to get over the tragedy of losing Manny too soon, but he would want us to find purpose in it.

God only truly knows the reason for our suffering, but we know God loves us. For that reason, I believe Manny would want us to find purpose by loving and caring for one another.

Rest in peace, Coach.
