DCFS management speaks at Allendale board meeting

Allendale Association was pleased to welcome the management team from the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services to its recent annual board meeting.

DCFS Director Beverly "B.J." Walker and Senior Deputy Director of Operations Michael C. Jones spoke with Allendale's Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team regarding its department's key priorities and most pressing challenges.

Director Walker discussed DCFS's commitment to promoting family reunification and permanency for children, while improving department data collection and reporting in order to facilitate communication, internally and externally.

Following the meeting, they toured Allendale's Lake Villa campus.

Allendale cares for more than 800 children and adolescents each year, many who are wards of DCFS.

"Like DCFS, Allendale shares the goal of helping youth return to their own family whenever possible, or at the very least, achieve permanency within a caring and supportive home in the community," Allendale CEO Jason Keeler said.
