Teachers support Burlington candidates
Educators and support staff from Burlington Central 301 schools are excited to be endorsing school board candidates for the Tuesday, April 4, election.
Central Education Association and Burlington Education Support Team (BEST) recommend the following most qualified District 301 school board candidates: Tina Johnson, Christina Johnson and Maria Crawford. As parents in the district, these candidates are advocates for the improved education of District 301's students.
An issue these candidates feel strongly about is improving communication. If elected, Tina, Christina and Maria will push for greater communication and transparency among the school board, teachers, students and the community.
Tina Johnson is a Senior Director of Regional Marketing for Scholastic Education. She has worked with districts across the country as they tackled federal and state mandates as well as local obstacles and learned of their successes too.
Christina Johnson is a former teacher who earned her Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and during those years working with administration and school board, she knew she wanted to be part of the development and success of her communities' school board.
Maria Crawford has worked in District 301 as a full-time substitute for 10 years. During this time, she was exposed to a variety of arenas and witnessed excellence in leadership while working with exemplary mentors. These impressions are her motivation to run for the school board.
Our hope is by endorsing candidates, which is a first for CEA and BEST, their leadership will help further support and enhance our students, staff and community
