Celebrating mom amid nature's blooms in St. Charles
Healing Gardens, a two-acre expanse of woodland and perennial gardens in St. Charles, opened Sunday to help moms celebrate Mother's Day.
Located at Stone Hill Farm, the gardens are cultivated and hosted by owners Deborah and Buzz Marqui.
The gardens are open to the public on set dates for the purpose of enjoying the natural wooded setting and gardens. In solidarity and to honor the journey, cancer survivors are always free.
Visiting moms were given a perennial plant Sunday.
Deborah Marqui, who is cancer-free from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since 1996 and in remission from breast cancer since 2002, said she finds great restoration of spirit in her gardens and property and wants to share that with the public for their own rejuvenation.
