Waukegan's Young Contest Winners at the Genesee Theatre

Waukegan, IL -- January 2017 - Waukegan's young pageant contest winners will be ambassadors at Genesee Theatre's ballet performance on Friday, January 20th. The winners will be dressed in their formal gowns and will be volunteering at the theatre before the evening performance of the State Ballet Theatre of Russia's Cinderella. Recipients include Miss Waukegan, Jailene Soto, representing ages 16 through 22; Junior Miss Waukegan, Jocelyn Soto, representing ages 10 through 15; and Little Miss Waukegan, Maritza Escamilla, representing ages 6 through 9.

Lake County Community Pageant, sponsor of the contest, provides an opportunity for young women of Lake County to continue their dedication to community service along with achieving personal goals and obtaining life skills such as leadership and public speaking.

These three young Waukegan women will be welcoming guests, handing out show flyers and assisting the ushers during the performance of Cinderella, one of the greatest classical ballets of all time. The full-scale production of Cinderella is set to the music of Prokofiev and follows the fairy tale of Cinderella as she seeks her Prince Charming with the help of a little magic.
