Letter: Guest view propaganda

The bias in reporting by the majority in media doesn't surprise many. However, one of several comments readily stood out as propaganda at its finest in the guest view piece in the July 12th Daily Herald.

The quote "police shootings kill more people than the number lost in mass shootings." Apparently Mr. Cavazos is unable to access the sad fact there are Highland Park and much higher numbers every weekend in Chicago alone. However, certainly every police use of force anywhere in the country becomes headlines.

I understand this is an opinion page, but Mr Cavazos is a member of the Herald's Editorial Board Sounding Board advisory panel. What he says as a "longtime activist" doesn't surprise, but instead of stoking anti police rhetoric, shouldn't the Herald try to not be so biased?
