Pingree Grove partners with Ride In Kane program
On May 1, the Pingree Grove Village Board approved a service agreement with Kane County Division of Transportation as a designated Ride in Kane sponsor.
Ride in Kane is a Section 5310 transportation services program, providing qualified individuals access to ride service in partnership with Pace Suburban Bus.
As a Ride In Kane sponsor, the village has allocated $25,000 in funding toward the cost of transportation for eligible Pingree Grove seniors, age 65 or older, and for those with a recorded disability, for rides originating from Pingree Grove to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
Under Pingree Grove's parameters, the Ride in Kane program offers 24/7 transportation within Kane County for a cash fare of $5 one-way, for the first 10 miles, and $1.50 per mile thereafter, or up to five (5) miles into McHenry County, including access to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.
In-person registration at the Village Municipal Center is required.
Program registration opens on June 1, 2023, and established Ride In Kane participation parameters must be met.
