Palatine Jaycees holding Family Field Day

The Palatine Jaycees will host the 3rd annual Family Field Day for children ages 6-12 from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 9, at Falcon Park, 2195 N. Hicks Road.

Family Field Day encourages families to choose an active and healthy lifestyle while having fun together. Activity stations will be set up both indoors and outdoors, including soccer, hockey, basketball and yoga.

Palatine Youth Baseball and Softball will provide a radar pitching booth. There will be raffle prizes for kids who can enter for free by visiting different activity stations. Representatives of the Windy City Bulls will offer giveaways and basketball pointers.

The chapter launched Family Field Day in 2015 after hosting workshops with community leaders to discuss the rising concern over the lack of physical activity in the lives of many children, and the possible correlation with the childhood obesity problem.

Information about the free event is at palatinejaycees.org.
