Crackdown welcome on animal fighting
With all the ugliness of politics going on this election season, it's refreshing to step back and look at what good the Congress has done.
HR 4202 and HR 366 crack down on animal fighting, which is of importance not just for dog lovers but for society in general.
Of special importance are penalties for taking children to animal fighting events. Research has shown compelling evidence that children introduced to animal fighting have a propensity to become spousal and children abusers later in life. It desensitizes children to violence in general; it makes violence and death acceptable to them. Gangs will use dog fighting to initiate gang members. A quick Google search of children and dog fighting will give more information.
These types of legislation are so important as they are more far reaching in helping our country to become a better place for all.
Unfortunately some of the good legislation doesn't make the news.
