Where was apology?
Jim Slusher wrote a great explanation piece about the "fog of war." It was written as a column in the style of a dispassionate journalism professor. The problem is the Daily Herald was an intregal part of the story. It published an uncollaborated story where the principal witness was the Hamas terrorist organization.
Where was the admission of guilt?
Saying you were caught up in the "fog of war" is a weak explanation. It's not an admission that the story was obviously flawed and your editors should have caught that. Where was the apology to your readers for misleading them?
I used to expect more of the Daily Herald. Now? Not so much.
