Letter: On death penalty, abortion

An October 2022 Gallup poll shows that 42% of those polled oppose the death penalty, but a Pew Research Poll shows 61% of those polled support abortion in all or most cases. Much of the opposition to capital punishment is a fear that an innocent person will be wrongly executed. That is a concern that I think is adequately addressed in the deliberate appeal process (although I personally am against capital punishment.) What crime did the unborn commit demanding a sentence of death?
