A parking fine is their ticket out of Palatine

By choice, my wife and I like to dine and shop at local businesses by the train stations.

We recently backed into a parking space at the Palatine train station indoor parking lot. When we returned, there was a $40 ticket from Palatine police for backing into the spot.

Yes, we did miss a very small sign by the entrance, but really? Local villages continue to squeeze every possible dollar from hardworking, overtaxed residents. So, the local hardware store by the train station, the local Chinese restaurant by the train station, Gianna's Cafe and the local pub for burgers and a beer will no longer get our business.

Goodbye Palatine, hello beautiful Glen Ellyn downtown businesses. Hello, Itasca local businesses! Shame on you Palatine!
