Grayslake Central tops Antioch, snaps four-game skid
Jack Spalding scored 16 points to lead a balanced attack and lead Grayslake Central's boys basketball team to a 64-56 win over visiting Antioch in Northern Lake County Conference action Friday night.
Christopher Thomas added 13 points for the Rams (9-11, 6-4), who snapped a four-game losing streak by overcoming a 15-9 deficit after one quarter. Alec Novak and Antonio Crews had 9 points apiece.
Dan Filippone scored 18 points for Antioch (8-13, 2-8), which also received 11 points from Jack Gillespie.
Grayslake North 77, Round Lake 57: The brothers Connolly were too much for host Round Lake in a Northern Lake County Conference matchup.
James Connolly finished with a team-high 23 points and Ryan Connolly had 21.
The Knights (8-13, 4-5) held the Panthers to 6 points in the first quarter.
Sophomore guard Jamon Thomas contributed 10 points for Grayslake North, which scored 27 points in the third quarter.
Senior forward Lucas Hollingsworth was a force for Round Lake (0-20, 0-10). He finished with a game-high 25 points, and senior guard Alex Larson had 10.
North Chicago 75, Wauconda 58: The Warhawks stayed perfect in Northern Lake County Conference play with a decisive victory.
North Chicago is 10-0 in conference action, while Wauconda slipped to 8-15 overall and 5-5 in the league.
