Barrington charity cake auction returns May 7

Norton's U.S.A. in Barrington will host its 5th annual Live Auction Cake Sale charity event to benefit Barrington Relay For Life on May 7.

At the event, participants donate freshly basked cakes which then are auctioned off the raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life fundraiser.

The annual event has grown each year, with it raising $1,900 for the cause in 2013, followed by $2,600 in 2014 and $4,320 last year.

Cakes up for auction will go on display at 2:45 p.m. May 7, with the live auction getting underway at 3 p.m. Norton's is located at 400 S. Lageschulte St. in Barrington.
