Fourth annual Winter Mini Fringe returns to Elgin Public House Jan. 21
The Elgin Fringe Festival, held in downtown Elgin every September, is bringing back their Winter Mini Fringe on Saturday, Jan. 21, to Pub 217 at Elgin Public House.
Featuring a lineup of fringe favorites and one new comer, the one-day mini festival looks to help fringe lovers stave off their winter blues.
It will be 4 to 8 p.m. at the pub, 219 E. Chicago St. in downtown Elgin.
Tickets are $30 for a festival pass or $15 per show. Tickets are on sale now at elginfringefestival.com and will be available at the door while seats remain.
Produced by Side Street Studio Arts and sponsored by the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission and Elgin Public House, the event will kick off with Danny Wightkin's "Cats That I Know" at 4 p.m., featuring Wightkin's charming stories and adorable photos of cats that have impacted his life.
Emily Ramirez's alt-comedy show featuring hilarious sketch comedy, storytelling, and live music, "It's That Time of the Month," follows at 5:30 p.m.
Rounding out the evening are the "Party Cops" at 7 p.m., featuring Elgin native Kelly Bolton and Vicki Kunz. The comedic duo is back to answer one of life's greatest mysteries: Can one party hard enough? Join the Party Cops to find out. Don't forget to hydrate!
"For years, the Elgin Fringe Festival has been growing and showing off amazing artists from all over," said Elgin Fringe Festival Executive Director Erin Rehberg. "The simple truth is we miss it when it isn't around for 11 months of the year. We wanted to continue to provide a platform for new and returning artists, as well as more opportunities for our audiences to come spend time on the fringe."
Audiences will be able to enjoy food and drink from Elgin Public House during the performances and have a chance to win fun prizes between each show!
The mission of the Elgin Fringe Festival is to encourage bold artistic experimentation and innovation by providing an accessible, affordable experience for both artists and audiences alike.
