Hoffman Estates hosts Hispanic Heritage Day Oct. 19

The Hoffman Estates Cultural Awareness Commission will celebrate the community's diverse culture by sponsoring a Hispanic Heritage Day Fiesta from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Hoffman Estates Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road.

Enjoy an afternoon of the sights, sounds and tastes of Latin culture. The event features the music of guitar player and singer José Verduzco; dancers representing Latin American countries; food; arts and crafts; and, of course, a piñata for the kids.

Featured speaker Hilda Frontany will discuss this year's theme, "A Story of Hispanic Growth from Chicago to Hoffman Estates."
