Free legal advice in Kane County:

The Kane County Law Library and Self Help Legal Center will offer two opportunities this week for people representing themselves in court to obtain free legal advice. The library is physically closed through June 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 14, people may call (630) 406-7126 to speak to a Kane County Bar Association lawyer. From 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, people involved in a landlord/tenant, eviction or small claims matter may call to speak to an attorney as part of the Lawyer in the Lobby Program. Callers who don't get through the first time should keep trying. For more information, visit kclawlibrary.org.
