Maine East stops Lakes at Glenbrook North

Maine East ousted Lakes' boys basketball team from the Class 4A postseason by topping the Eagles 53-47 on Monday in a regional play-in game at Glenbrook North.

The 16th-seeded Blue Demons (14-16) advanced to a 6 p.m. Tuesday matchup against No. 2 Glenbrook South sectional seed Deerfield (25-3).

Lakes, seeded No. 18, wraps up its season at 13-15.
