Waubonsee VITA program offers free tax help

Volunteers with Waubonsee Community College's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will offer free tax help by appointment at the college's Aurora downtown campus, located at 18 S. River St.

The sessions will take place on Saturdays, Jan. 29 through April 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.

At these sessions, volunteers will help prepare and electronically file federal and state income tax returns. Those with families earning up to $58,000 and individuals earning up to $32,000 per year are eligible for this service.

Waubonsee's VITA Program is part of a network of 28 locations led by Ladder Up that provides tax assistance.
