Letter: Society is failing, not laws
The failures in Uvalde were not of the gun laws or lack thereof. The failures started in the perpetrators high school with his teachers, counselors, school administrators, for not following up on a young man without a mom and dad, who was failing. Then there was the failure of the town's clergy not knowing of this young man's home situation. If any of his teachers or counselors would have reached out to him or to a clergyman about his failures in high school, this tragedy might have been prevented. All that needed to happen is for someone to show they cared.
