Bowling for a good cause in Mundelein

Lakeside Recreation Center in Mundelein was packed Sunday for the 4th annual Pins for PADS bowling fundraiser to benefit Lake County's homeless residents.

The fundraiser was sold out with a crowd of 120 enjoying an afternoon of bowling, pizza and raffle prizes.

"This is our biggest event thus far," said volunteer and coordinator Lindsey Siegel.

All of the money raised will benefit PADS of Lake County, which offers emergency shelter, a day resource center, outreach programs and other services to people experiencing homelessness.

Last year's event raised more than $4,000.

"We're hoping to far exceed that this year," Siegel said.
