Arlington Heights Youth Citizen Police Academy open for enrollment

Enrollment for the Arlington Heights Police Department's 2023 Youth Citizen Police Academy is now open.

The free, one-week class runs from July 10 to July 14. Classes will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.

The class is open to ages 13 to 17 interested in a career in law enforcement, public safety, fire service or law. Participants will learn from police officers and firefighters through hands-on activities such as mock traffic stops, forensics, arson investigation, vehicle extraction and fire hose handling techniques, and take part in training scenarios through an immersive virtual simulation technology.
