Historical Campaign Fundraising for Bushra Amiwala in Skokie

Bushra Amiwala, 19, resident of Skokie and DePaul University Sophomore Student, spoke to many groups of Prominent Leaders of society and several members of the Chicago community who had joined hands in fundraising for Bushra Amiwala. She is running for Cook County Commissioner District 13 in the Democratic primary this year and is challenging incumbent Larry Suffredin. Larry had held the position since 2002. Primary election taking place in district on March 20, 2018.

The elegant fundraiser was hosted in the ballroom of Skokie's Holiday Inn on January 31st, 2018 from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm. The theme of the event was "Women in Power." Program was successfully accomplished with the support of volunteers and friends of Amidala. The purpose of the event was to collect the fund for election campaign expenses.

Despite the cold weather, many Supporters, friends, and well-wishers attended the event it touched their hearts and aesthetic senses. This sold out event was a hit with more than 450 attendees the attendance was so large and impressive.

The event was emceed by Jaimie Thimmesh Rachie. Welcome and opening remarks were also conducted by Jaimie Thimmesh Rachie. All the speakers of the event were women, including Kathleen Dillon, Audrey Barsella, Sarah Paulis, Wendy Heltzer and Anisha Patel. All speakers expressed about candidate Amiwala efforts, talents and her struggle in the community. She will the right candidate for Cook County Commissioner and she will be fighting for the people. She is a progressive woman leader in youth generation and she will bring positive change in our political system. We are heartily endorsing and support Bushra for Cook County Commissioner.

Amiwala, whose parents Immigrated from Pakistan 20 years ago, said she grew up in Rogers Park Chicago and moved to Skokie before she was 10. Even at such a young age, she said, she noticed differences in the way people lived especially in their schooling. In early age Bushra Amiwala become a social activist, and community volunteer.

Amiwala said "I will work to find creative solutions as a Cook County Commissioner. I will provide funding best solutions for cook county operations and manages county affairs and I will work to build strong partnerships with county officials and community stakeholders".

Several political candidates also attended the event including Dilara Sayeed, Democratic candidate for state representative 5th District, Democratic candidate for attorney general Aaron Goldstein, Bob Fioretti candidate for cook county board president and many others.

The event ended with a lavish dinner.
