CareerPlaces helps unemployed find jobs

This holiday season, CareerPlace is helping local jobseekers develop job search skills to find fulfilling careers in the New Year.

CareerPlace, a Barrington-based nonprofit organization that helps individuals transition into employment, offers weekly orientations to their program model, which incorporates curriculum, coaching and employer connections. Jobseekers can learn more about the program and meet Executive Director Chris Campbell Monday mornings.

CareerPlace members are matched with a personal career coach, receive access to a series of job search workshops conducted by local experts, can join a Job Search Work Team (designed by job search expert Orville Pierson), and are free to use CareerPlace offices as their own.

"CareerPlace is one of the best-kept secrets in the Northwest suburbs," said Chris Campbell. "A job search does not have to be a solo venture. In fact, jobseekers can land their next opportunity in less time with the CareerPlace model."

For jobseekers interested in CareerPlace's services, orientations are held at 10 a.m. Mondays at 600 Hart Road, Suite 118, in Barrington. For details, call (847) 304-4157 or visit www.mycareerplace.org.

CareerPlace is a nonprofit organization based in Barrington entering its 23rd year of service with 385 members that utilizes more than 30 volunteers to assist unemployed individuals with job search skills, strategies and support through a program of curriculum, coaching and connections.

For a small annual membership fee, CareerPlace offers jobseekers a structured program that integrates individual and small group employment services.
