Objections to candidates filed in Lake Villa area

Electoral boards in Lake Villa Township and village of Lake Villa this week will hear objections to candidates running for office in those jurisdictions. Mona Mustafa, a Lake Villa resident and candidate for mayor, has filed objections against her opponents, Trustee James McDonald and trustee candidate Kevin Kruckeberg, while resident William F. Burns has objected to Mustafa's petitions. The village's electoral board will hear and rule on the objections at 2 p.m. Friday at the village hall, 65 Cedar Ave., Lake Villa. Mustafa also has objected to the petitions of township Supervisor Dan Venturi and Assessor Jeffrey Lee. The township electoral board will hear those objections at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the town Hall, 37908 N. Fairfield Road, Lake Villa.
