Letter: Doom and gloom in Windy City sports
It is very difficult to live in a State and near one of the world's largest cities where taxes are high, crime is increasing, has financial woes due to union dominance with out-of-control pensions, disruptive politics, one party domination, etc.
Sports should be the lighter side of life in and around this once great city, but the sport teams continue ones agony when you consider how many championships we have seen since the turn of the century.
The Blackhawks have fared best with three Stanley Cups but now are heading in the opposite direction. Cubbies, after 100 years finally one a World Series in 2016 but, they are back in the rebuilding mode.
White Sox won in 2005, third ever, but failed miserably this year while having such high expectations. The last time the Bulls were on top was 1998 and don't seem to be going in the right direction either. Da Bears have won only one Super Bowl in modern times going way back to 1985.
At least next year the will get a high draft pick. Doom and gloom in the Windy City.
